Leben

Er erwarb 1978 das Diplom in Mathematik (Nebenfach VWL) in Göttingen, 1990 die Promotion im Fach Erziehungswissenschaften und 1999 die Habilitation im Fach Soziologie. Ab 2003 arbeitete er als wissenschaftlicher Angestellter an der Universität Leipzig. Von 2005 bis 2018 war er Professor für Methoden und Statistik an der Universität Flensburg.

Seine Arbeitsgebiete sind quantitative Methoden und Statistik, empirische Sozialforschung, Modellierung und Simulation sozialer Systeme und Bildungssoziologie; Hochschulforschung.

Müller-Benedict ist verheiratet und hat drei Söhne.
